The Fold isn’t one room dressed up six different ways.
We’re a countryside wedding and event venue in Nottinghamshire, tucked away in Sutton on Trent, within easy reach of Nottingham, Newark and Lincoln, close enough to be practical, far enough to feel like you’ve escaped.
It’s a collection of spaces that each do something different, designed to work together, so your day can move naturally, without awkward resets or “where are we going now?” moments.
Here’s what that looks like...
THE MEADOW
Big sky energy.
Three acres of open space, this is where things breathe.
Marquees. Tipis. Long tables under canvas. Garden games. Barefoot kids. Helicopter arrivals if you’re feeling dramatic!
Part of the land stays natural meadow, perfect for photographs and wandering. The rest is open, clean and safe for guests to move around without navigating mud or mystery holes.
It’s the part of the venue that makes everything feel bigger, calmer and properly outdoors.

THE NOOK
The ceremony space.
Tucked into the willow woodland, this is where the important bit happens.
It works just as beautifully for two people as it does for 150.
Surrounded by greenery, gently sheltered, and full of natural light, it feels private without being closed in. There are photo moments in every direction, and a quiet sense of being held by the landscape.
It’s calm and personal and it doesn’t need dressing up to feel special.
(but we love to dress it up!)
THE COURTYARD
Where it all comes together.
Enclosed, spacious and full of atmosphere.
This is your central hub... drinks, arrivals, celebrations and everything in between, comfortably hosting up to 150 guests.
Warm lighting gives it that cosy-hug feel. The open layout keeps it relaxed. Covered areas link seamlessly to The Den and the Baa Bar, so guests flow naturally between spaces.
It’s lively without feeling chaotic, intimate without feeling cramped and it holds energy brilliantly.

THE DEN
The rustic barn.
Enclosed, warm and naturally welcoming.
The Den seats up to 70 guests and works beautifully for intimate dining, smaller celebrations, or as part of a larger day that moves through the spaces.
Timber, soft lighting and simple textures make it feel relaxed and somewhere people settle in quickly.
Eat. Talk. Toast. Dance if you want to!

THE BAA BAR
The surprise!
This is the moment guests walk in, pause, and say “oh!”
A stylish Art Deco bar opening straight into the courtyard, with gold detailing, a standout ceiling and a fully stocked setup.
It’s slick without being flashy, welcoming without being ordinary and it becomes a natural pull point for the party.
And everyone just LOVES it!

from the land
This isn’t ‘decorative countryside’
Behind the scenes, much of what you eat and drink starts here.
We grow vegetables and herbs in the allotment, fruit comes from our orchard, potatoes from the field, edible flowers and micro-leaves from the greenhouse, honey from our bees.
It shows up on your plate, in your drinks and in the details.
It’s not styled to look rural.
...it actually is.
